Is Britain coming apart at the seams?

Last week Roland referred to the riots that took place across the UK following the murder of three children in Southport.

Here's an interesting discussion by two commentators, Paul Embery and Inaya Folarin Iman (click on the picture below). Interesting analysis?

I found the discussion above, on the response to the recent riots, very sensible and reasonable. No way do I think that the UK is "falling apart at the seams." Following the peaceful and smooth election of a new government, which so far is moderate and acceptable to the vast majority of Britons, I struggle to remember a time when Briton has been less likely to fall apart at the seams. I often think that people have very short memories! I grew up in the 60s and 70s, what a mess Britain was in then; racist, divided socially and economically, regarded as "the poor man of Europe". Don't you remember! We are in a far better state now. My main worry about today is the inexcerable and de-humanising effect of technology. But then I'm probably just considered to be a miserable old foggie.
